The Community Foundation are an independent, grant making trust, inspiring generosity and achieving impact. They match generous people to important causes, they manage and award grants to hundreds of charities through donations and funds set up by our donors. Beginning with the causes and issues that you care about, their team guide you with your giving and connect you to a network of like-minded people, social entrepreneurs, important causes and charitable organisations.

The Foundation’s Techies in Residence programme awards almost £70,000 seed funding to five local projects following a virtual pitch and online showcase With seven projects taking part in the showcase, five received a financial boost of £12,000 each to invest in the further development of their tech project, while the remaining two each received £3,500 development grants. The aim was to recreate the annual awards remotely, allowing for presentations, interaction and participation from all concerned.

The Solution

Our IT department set about building a registration process to provide a secure event with encryption. We had an authenticate process which used a unique per-person registration to confirm the identity of each participant attempting to join the convention.

We also developed a procedure in conjunction with the Community Foundation that allowed for interaction with remote attendees.

It was decided by our client that the awards should be conducted from our studios in Belfast. We provided full lighting, Camera & sound packages with all IT equipment. Which we set in advance to allow for technical and client rehearsals ahead of the all-important day.

Our 3-member technical team looking after the operation of the awards has a combined experience of 55 years in the industry, so safe hands on the day!
